Pilates Reformer Classes

ABS Pilates offers an economical way to get your Pilates workout in one way or another.  We offer several different types of equipment classes.  There are Reformer classes and Tower classes. Both of these drop-in Pilates classes use a different type of Pilates equipment to improve strength, flexibility and posture awareness.  But you may be asking yourself what is the difference between the two types of classes and which class may be the best one for you. While both classes utilize the core principles of Pilates, one class may be more beneficial to your individual needs.

Reformer | Core Principles of Pilates

The Reformer is the most popular piece of Pilates equipment.  It was invented by Joseph Pilates many years ago. It looks like a leg press machine but has springs for resistance and has the ability to offers the individual many different ways to target all the muscles of the body.  Some of the benefits of going to a Reformer class at ABS Pilates include:

  1. The Reformer is very versatile.  It can be easily adapted for the most deconditioned client or the most athletic.
  2. Exercises can be done lying down, sitting, standing, pulling straps, pushing the foot bar or in a plank position.
  3. The Reformer can train many different parts of the body.
  4. The Reformer can easily be adjusted if a client has a knee problem, back problem or neck problem.

ABS Pilates offers private, semi-private and drop-in classes using the Reformer.
