Reformer classes

Your classical Reformer class with a few modern twists, the most versatile piece of equipment Joseph Pilates ever built, taught by a licensed physical therapist in a seven-Reformer studio.

Why the Reformer

It looks like a leg press. It behaves like nothing else in the room.

The Reformer is the most popular piece of Pilates equipment, invented by Joseph Pilates many years ago. Springs supply the resistance, and the machine offers an individual many different ways to target every muscle in the body.

  • 01 The Reformer is very versatile. One apparatus covers a whole practice.
  • 02 It adapts to the person. Easily adjusted for the most deconditioned client or the most athletic.
  • 03 Exercises come in every orientation. Lying down, sitting, standing, pulling straps, pushing the foot bar or holding a plank.
  • 04 It trains many different parts of the body: not one region at a time.
  • 05 It works around an injury. The Reformer can easily be adjusted if a client has a knee problem, back problem or neck problem.

What to expect

No prior experience is required. Amanda demonstrates the exercise, sets your springs, and shows a modification before anyone needs to ask for one. Seven Reformers means she can see all seven of you.

A Reformer class at ABS Pilates builds strength, flexibility and posture awareness in a fun, dynamic way, with enough variety that your body keeps being challenged and your results keep progressing.
