Muscles. Major muscles included are the pelvic floor muscles, transversus abdominis, multifidus, internal and external obliques, rectus abdominis, erector spinae (sacrospinalis) especially the longissimus thoracis, and the diaphragm.
ABS Pilates offers all levels of Pilates classes including mat Pilates, Reformer classes, Tower classes and Jumpboard classes. Classes for the beginner, intermediate and advanced participant. Pilates improves strength of the core muscles. The stronger your core is the more power you can generate during your swing. Pilates is known for strengthening all the muscles of the core including the small deep spinal muscles that help to protect the spine.

ABS Pilates is now offering private and semi-private Pilates sessions as well as varying levels of classes with Amanda B. Smith, a licensed physical therapist who specializes in injuries to the spine.
